Regular Season Round 43: Gifu - Tachikawa 86-78

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Gifu (18-26) defeated at home 15th ranked Tachikawa (12-32) 86-78 on Sunday. Gifu made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Gifu outrebounded Tachikawa 48-20 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Gifu players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Kota Akiyama (188-1996) scored 19 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gifu maintains ninth place with 18-26 record. Newly promoted Tachikawa dropped to the fourteenth position with 32 games lost. They share it with Yamaguchi. Gifu will meet league's second-placed Saitama on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tachikawa will play against Okayama (#7) and hope to secure a win.
