Regular Season Round 43: Kagoshima - Tokyo HT 91-66
Date: March 12, 2023
Very predictable result in Renova where fourth ranked Kagoshima (34-10) outscored 11th ranked Tokyo HT (14-30) 91-66 on Sunday. Kagoshima forced 21 Tokyo HT turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Yoshifumi Nakajima (176-1990) helped adding 20 points. Four Kagoshima players scored in double figures. At the losing side Spanish center David Doblas (208-1981) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Senegalese forward Bamba Diouf (198-1993) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kagoshima. They maintain fourth place with 34-10 record. Tokyo HT lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 30 games lost. They share it with Kanazawa and Shanan Utd. Kagoshima will meet at home Shanan Utd (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tokyo HT will play against Kanazawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
