Regular Season Round 23: Karaganda - Tigers-KazATU 99-90

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tigers-KazATU (10-14) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Karaganda (16-8) 99-90 on Saturday. Karaganda looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-1995) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Konstantin Teryukov (181-2000) helped adding 27 points and 6 assists. Point guard Dastan Kaldybaev (180-2001) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Temirlan Dzhunusov (192-1999) scored 19 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tigers-KazATU's coach Mikhail Nohai rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Karaganda. They maintain fourth place with 16-8 record. Tigers-KazATU lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. Karaganda will meet at home Irtysh (#5) in the next round. Tigers-KazATU will play against Altay in Oskemen and hope to secure a win.
