Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Gifu (17-26) outscored at home 15th ranked Tachikawa (12-31) 87-58 on Saturday. Gifu dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tachikawa's 32. They outrebounded Tachikawa 36-18 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian center Matas Jucikas (205-1994, agency: BIG) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Jota Machii (182-1999) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gifu maintains ninth position with 17-26 record.
