Regular Season Round 36: Jilin NE T. - Shanghai S. 101-93

There was a small surprise in Changchun where tenth ranked Jilin Tigers (18-15) defeated 7th ranked Sharks (19-15) 101-93 on Friday. Strangely Sharks outrebounded Jilin Tigers 44-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. The former international point guard Weize Jiang (182-2000) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists respectively. Four Jilin Tigers and five Sharks players scored in double figures. Sharks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shanxi L. Loser Sharks keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Jilin Tigers will meet bottom-ranked Rockets (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sharks will play against Ducks (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
