Very expected game when 7th ranked Sendai 89ers (12-27) were crushed at home by second ranked Alvark Tokyo (31-8) 86-60 on Wednesday. It was a great shooting night for Alvark Tokyo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Zack Baranski (193-1992) chipped in 17 points. Point guard Taiki Okada (176-1999) produced 13 points and American power forward Gary Hamilton (208-1984, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) added 2 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alvark Tokyo maintains second position with 31-8 record having just seven point less than leader Shimane SM. Newly promoted Sendai 89ers keep the seventh place with 27 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will meet at home Akita NH (#4) in the next round. Sendai 89ers will play against Ibaraki R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
