There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Nagoya DD (27-12) was edged at home by seventh ranked Kyoto H. (17-22) 74-71 on Wednesday. Kyoto H. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Canadian-Filipino guard Matthew Wright (193-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Kyoto H.'s coach Roy Rana used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import power forward Scott Eatherton (206-1991, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Kyoto H. maintains seventh position with 17-22 record. Nagoya DD lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. Kyoto H. will meet higher ranked Hiroshima D. (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nagoya DD will play against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK having rather not much hope for a victory.
