No shocking result in a game when eighteenth ranked Blue Whales (8-24) beat bottom-ranked Rockets (2-30) in Sichuan 99-83 on Tuesday. Blue Whales looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Marlain Veal (175-1996, college: SE Louisiana) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Guard Jordan Crawford (193-1988, college: Xavier) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and power forward Dewan Hernandez (211-1997, college: Miami, FL) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Rockets in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Blue Whales maintains eighteenth place with 8-24 record. Rockets lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 30 lost games. Blue Whales will meet at home higher ranked Flying Tigers (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rockets will play against Ducks (#6) and hope to secure a win.
