Regular Season Round 43: Kagawa FA - Nagasaki 79-107
Date: March 5, 2023
Very predictable result when second ranked Nagasaki (31-14) rolled over 7th ranked Kagawa FA (12-33) in Takamatsu 107-79 on Sunday. Nagasaki shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Kagawa FA's players. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. American center Nigel Spikes (208-1989, college: Marshall) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Kagawa FA in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second place with 31-14 record having seven points less than leader Chiba. Kagawa FA lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 33 games lost. Nagasaki will meet at home Ehime OV (#4) in the next round. Kagawa FA will play against the league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
