Regular Season Round 43: Aomori W. - Kumamoto V. 67-71

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kumamoto V. (26-19) beat on the road 5th ranked Aomori W. (20-25) 71-67 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Nagomu Kamizato (171-1995) accounted for 9 points and 7 assists for the winning side. American forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Aomori W. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 26-19 record having twelve points less than leader Chiba. Loser Aomori W. keeps the fifth position with 25 games lost. Kumamoto V. will meet at home league's leader Chiba in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aomori W. will play against Fukuoka R. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
