Regular Season Round 42: Chiba - Fukushima 110-107

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chiba as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chiba edged 3rd ranked Fukushima at home 110-107. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fukushima. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Fukushima helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 15-of-17 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Leo Lyons (206-1987, college: Missouri) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-1989, college: Kentucky) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fukushima's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Fukushima at the other side keeps the third place with 23 games lost. Fukushima will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Chiba will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Fukushima at home.
