No shocking result in a game when third ranked Flying Leopards (24-7) crushed bottom-ranked Rockets (2-30) in Ningbo 101-75 on Friday. Flying Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets' 32. Flying Leopards forced 26 Rockets turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Flying Leopards looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The former international Ailun Guo (189-1993) nailed 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and American forward JaKarr Sampson (206-1993, college: St.John's) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Flying Leopards players scored in double figures. Montenegrin forward Marko Todorovic (208-1992) came up with 26 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Rockets in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 24-7 record having just one point less than leader Zhejiang GB. Rockets lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 30 lost games. Flying Leopards will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rockets will play against Sturgeons (#17) and hope to secure a win.
