A very close game took place in Shanghai between Jilin Tigers and Sharks. Eleventh ranked Jilin Tigers (16-15) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Sharks (18-14). Jilin Tigers managed to escape with a 2-point win 107-105 on Friday evening. Strangely Sharks outrebounded Jilin Tigers 51-34 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) nailed a triple-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds, 14 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and the former international point guard Weize Jiang (182-2000) accounted for 27 points. American point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) added 21 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Sharks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sharks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers maintains eleventh place with 16-15 record. Loser Sharks dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. Jilin Tigers will meet higher ranked Aviators (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sharks will play against Ducks in Beijing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
