Qatar Club defeated Al Ahli in Doha 82-74. Qatar Club looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. American guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS, agency: Interperformances) fired a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Serbian Dejan Janjic (198-1995) chipped in 28 points and 4 assists. Four Qatar Club players scored in double figures. American forward Alex Young (198-1989, college: IUPUI) produced a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 13 assists and center Moustapha Ndao (188-2005) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Al Ahli will play next round against strong Al Shamal trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena of Al Shamal. Qatar Club will try to continue on its current victory against Al Gharafa. It will be extra interesting game as Al Gharafa is their local rival from Doha.
