A very close game took place in Jinjiang between Sturgeons and Sharks. Nineteenth ranked Sturgeons (7-22) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Sharks (17-12). Sturgeons managed to escape with a 3-point win 133-130 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Sturgeons made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian-American point guard Darius Adams (188-1989, college: Indianapolis) who scored 45 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Australian-South Sudanese center Thon Maker (216-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 8 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals and the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) added 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Sturgeons and four Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Sturgeons have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Tianjin. Loser Sharks dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Sturgeons will meet higher ranked Aviators (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sharks will play against Jilin Tigers (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
