Rather predictable result when second ranked Nagasaki (29-14) defeated at home 6th ranked Bambitious N. (13-30) 100-89 on Sunday. Nagasaki shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Nagasaki players scored in double figures. American guard Christian James (194-1996, college: Oklahoma) produced 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-1987, college: Cincinnati) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Nagasaki. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second place with 29-14 record having just three points less than leader Saga B. Bambitious N. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 30 games lost. Nagasaki will meet Kagawa FA (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bambitious N. will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
