Regular Season Round 39: Shizuoka - Toyoda 94-78

B3 League top team - Shizuoka (36-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eighth ranked Toyoda (16-24) 94-78. Shizuoka players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a quality performance for Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Yuzo Okada (181-1992) accounted for 16 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Australian center Andrew Ferguson (213-1998, college: CS Monterey) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Hironori Higuchi (191-1990) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Toyoda in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shizuoka have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 36-4 record. Toyoda at the other side keeps the eighth position with 24 games lost. Shizuoka will play against league's second-placed Iwate on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyoda will play against Tachikawa (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
