Very predictable result when second ranked Iwate (35-5) smashed on the road 9th ranked Gifu (15-25) 94-64 on Sunday. Iwate made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Keijiro Monma (185-1994) chipped in 21 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Iwate players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian center Matas Jucikas (205-1994, agency: BIG) added 16 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Iwate. They maintain second place with 35-5 record behind leader Shizuoka. Gifu lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 25 games lost. Iwate will meet at home league's leader Shizuoka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
