Regular Season Round 12: Hotshots - Meralco Bolts 84-86

The most exciting game of round 12 in the PBA took place in Pasig City. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Hotshots (4-4) to seventh ranked Meralco Bolts (4-3) 86-84 in the game for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hotshots. 29 personal fouls committed by Hotshots helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American swingman KJ McDaniels (198-1993, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Naturalized American Clifford Hodge (196-1988, college: HPU) contributed with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American Antonio Hester (199-1990, college: Mobile, AL, agency: Rigorer Korea Agency) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and guard Paul Lee (185-1989) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hotshots. Four Meralco Bolts and five Hotshots players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Meralco Bolts moved-up to sixth place. Hotshots at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Meralco Bolts' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manila Ginebra Kings.
