Regular Season Round 40: Aomori W. - Nishinomiya S. 66-95

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Nishinomiya S. (19-23) crushed on the road one of their biggest challengers Aomori W. (19-23) 95-66 on Saturday. Nishinomiya S. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aomori W.'s 28. Nishinomiya S. forced 21 Aomori W. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American forward Trey Porter (208-1996, college: Nevada) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and the other American import forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by point guard Yuichi Ikeda (183-1997) did not help to save the game for Aomori W.. American forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nishinomiya S. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Aomori W. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aomori W. will play again against Nishinomiya S. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
