Regular Season Round 40: Ehime OV - Yamagata 82-85

Important game to mention about took place in Matsuyama. Sixth ranked Yamagata (17-26) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Ehime OV (20-23) 85-82 on Friday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import James Bell (196-1992, college: Villanova, agency: Slash Sports) who added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Yamagata's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 19 rebounds and point guard Takumi Furuno (179-1993) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Yamagata maintains sixth position with 17-26 record. Ehime OV at the other side keeps the fourth place with 23 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
