Regular Season Round 10: Taiwan Beer - Bank of Taiwan 87-96

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Taiwan Beer (5-5) against second ranked Bank of Taiwan on Friday night. Bank of Taiwan were defeated by Bank of Taiwan (6-4) 96-87. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bank of Taiwan dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Taiwan Beer's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Max Mahoney (203-1998, college: Boston U.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Chia-He Chang (188-1996) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Nigerian forward Gabriel Humphery (195-1997) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Chao-Hao Chen (199-1992) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Taiwan Beer. Five Bank of Taiwan and four Taiwan Beer players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bank of Taiwan keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Yulon Luxgen. Taiwan Beer at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. Bank of Taiwan is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Changhua (#4) at home in the next round. Taiwan Beer will play against the league's leader Yulon Luxgen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
