Regular Season Round 22: Lioneers - Fubon Braves 101-131

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Fubon Braves' (14-9) victory over one of their biggest challengers Lioneers (10-14) 131-101 on Tuesday. Fubon Braves made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Fubon Braves outrebounded Lioneers 51-31 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Lioneers' players. American power forward Chris Johnson (210-1985, college: LSU) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Michael Singletary (198-1988, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 34 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Terrico White (196-1990, college: Ole Miss) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Canadian forward Anthony Bennett (203-1993, college: UNLV) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fubon Braves have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-9 record behind leader Kings. Lioneers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Fubon Braves will meet league's second-placed Pilots in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lioneers will play against Dreamers in Changhua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
