Regular Season Round 37: Veertien Mie - Shizuoka 81-105

Leader Shizuoka delivered the 34th win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Veertien Mie (13-25) 105-81 in Yokkaichi. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Veertien Mie's players. Point guard Atomu Yamada (179-1998) fired 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Shizuoka's coach Facundo Muller felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Josh Martin (201-1995, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Eugene Artison (206-1995, college: USAO, agency: One Motive Sports) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Shizuoka (34-4) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Newly promoted Veertien Mie keeps the tenth position with 25 games lost. They share it with Shanan Utd. Shizuoka are looking forward to face Toyoda (#8) in Aichi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Veertien Mie will play on the road against Tachikawa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
