Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Shinagawa (3-33) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Yamaguchi (10-26) 93-84 on Monday. Yamaguchi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Jamaican-British center Ryan Richards (212-1991) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Rikiya Yamaguchi (180-1996) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) came up with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Shinagawa in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamaguchi moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Kanazawa. Shinagawa lost their third game in a row. They stay dead last with 33 lost games. Yamaguchi will meet at home higher ranked Kagoshima (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shinagawa will play against Saitama (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
