Regular Season Round 35: Saitama - Okayama 90-91

The most exciting game of round 35 in the B3 League took place in Saitama. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Saitama (29-7) to seventh ranked Okayama (21-15) 91-90 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Saitama. Okayama made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Saitama 35-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. American power forward DeVaughn Washington (203-1989, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) saved the victory by scoring 30 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-1987, college: Ohio) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American center Will Creekmore (205-1989, college: Missouri St.) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) added 17 points in the effort for Saitama. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Okayama maintains seventh place with 21-15 record. Saitama at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Okayama are looking forward to face Shanan Utd (#11) in Kanagawa in the next round. Saitama will play at home against Shinagawa (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
