Regular Season Round 36: Fukuoka R. - Nagasaki 68-77
Date: February 11, 2023
Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (14-25) was defeated at home by second ranked Nagasaki (26-13) 77-68 on Saturday. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Filipino-Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Nagasaki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Marvelle Harris (196-1993, college: Fresno St., agency: Slash Sports) scored 20 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second position with 26-13 record having four points less than leader Chiba. Fukuoka R. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 25 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
