Regular Season Round 36: Fukuoka R. - Nagasaki 79-92
Date: February 10, 2023
There was no surprise when 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (14-25) was defeated at home by second ranked Nagasaki (26-13) 92-79 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Nagasaki especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Fukuoka R.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and Filipino-Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) who added 18 points and 9 assists during the contest. Five Nagasaki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Marvelle Harris (196-1993, college: Fresno St., agency: Slash Sports) scored 21 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second position with 26-13 record having four points less than leader Chiba. Fukuoka R. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 25 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
