There was no surprise when 8th ranked Niigata A. (5-31) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Tochigi Brex (19-17) 86-54 on Sunday. Tochigi Brex dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A.'s 22. They outrebounded Niigata A. 41-22 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Power forward Josh Scott (208-1993, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Grant Jerrett (208-1993, college: Arizona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Forward Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) produced 18 points and 5 assists and forward Keve Aluma (206-1998, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 19-17 record. Niigata A. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 31 games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. Tochigi Brex will meet at home Hokkaido L. (#8) in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Ibaraki R. in Mito and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
