Regular Season Round 20: Dreamers - Fubon Braves 75-90
Date: February 5, 2023
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Dreamers (7-12) lost to third ranked Fubon Braves (11-9) 75-90 on Sunday. Fubon Braves outrebounded Dreamers 67-45 including a 55-38 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fubon Braves made 9 blocks. The winners were led by American power forward Chris Johnson (210-1985, college: LSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 28 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-1989, agency: BIG) supported him with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Four Fubon Braves players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by American swingman SirDominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Dreamers. Turkish Ilkan Karaman (205-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for Fubon Braves. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fubon Braves have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-9 record having just one point less than leader Pilots. Loser Dreamers keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Fubon Braves will meet league's leader Pilots in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dreamers will play against Steelers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
