Regular Season Round 35: Kumamoto V. - Nishinomiya S. 91-73

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Kumamoto V. (22-15) beat at home 5th ranked Nishinomiya S. (16-21) 91-73 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Kumamoto V. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Jamel McLean (202-1988, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Trey Porter (208-1996, college: Nevada) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 22-15 record having eight points less than leader Chiba. Loser Nishinomiya S. keeps the fifth position with 21 games lost. Kumamoto V. will meet league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nishinomiya S. will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
