Regular Season Round 37: Hiroshima D. - Hitachi SRT 74-92

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Hiroshima D. (27-9) against fifth ranked Hitachi SRT (14-20) on Sunday night. Host Hiroshima D. was defeated by Hitachi SRT in Hiroshima 92-74. Hitachi SRT outrebounded Hiroshima D. 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hitachi SRT players scored in double figures. Forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Hiroshima D. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi SRT maintains fifth place with 14-20 record. Hiroshima D. at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Nagoya DD and Ryukyu GK. Hitachi SRT will play against higher ranked Shinshu BW (#3) in Nagano in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hiroshima D. will play at home against Gunma CT and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
