Regular Season Round 36: Shinshu BW - Kawasaki BT 77-79

A very close game took place in Nagano between Kawasaki BT and Shinshu BW. Second ranked Kawasaki BT (21-14) got a very close victory on the road over 3rd ranked Shinshu BW (17-18). Kawasaki BT managed to escape with a 2-point win 79-77 on Saturday evening. Kawasaki BT looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) who scored that evening 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-1988, college: Northeastern) supported him with 20 points and 6 assists. Kawasaki BT's coach Kenji Sato used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. The former international guard Yuta Okada (189-1998) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Kawasaki BT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Yokohama BC. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the third place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Osaka E.. Kawasaki BT will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again against the league's leader Kawasaki BT and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
