Regular Season Round 36: Hiroshima D. - Hitachi SRT 90-78

Rather predictable result when second ranked Hiroshima D. (27-8) won against at home 5th ranked Hitachi SRT (13-20) 90-78 on Saturday. Hiroshima D. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi SRT's 32. They outrebounded Hitachi SRT 37-24 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hiroshima D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) supported him with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 24 points and 9 rebounds by Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Hitachi SRT. Forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) added 22 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hiroshima D. maintains second position with 27-8 record having just six point less than leader Shimane SM. Hitachi SRT lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 20 games lost. Hiroshima D. will again meet at home Hitachi SRT (#5) in the next round. Hitachi SRT will have a break next round.
