Regular Season Round 36: Ryukyu GK - Toyama G. 105-81

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Toyama G. (7-28) was outleveled by fourth ranked Ryukyu GK (26-9) in Okinawa 105-81 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Toyama G. 42-24 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Toyama G.'s players. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) did not help to save the game for Toyama G.. Guard Cody Demps (193-1993, college: Sacramento St.) added 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryukyu GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Toyama G. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 28 games lost. Ryukyu GK will again meet at home Toyama G. (#7) in the next round. Toyama G. will have a break next round.
