Leader Shizuoka delivered the twenty eighth win on Sunday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Tokyo Utd (19-13) 66-55. Shizuoka made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Tokyo Utd turnovers. Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Point guard Atomu Yamada (179-1998) chipped in 17 points. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Hiroki Higashi (185-1995) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Shizuoka maintains first place with 28-4 record, which they share with Iwate. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Shizuoka is looking forward to face Tachikawa (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tokyo Utd's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo HT.
