Everything could happen in Kariya at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Sea Horses M. and their close opponent Ibaraki R. had identical 11-22 record. This time Sea Horses M. used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Mito 74-65 on Sunday night. Sea Horses M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Satoshi Nagano (175-1995) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Sea Horses M. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sea Horses M. maintains sixth place with 12-22 record which they share with defeated Ibaraki R. Loser Ibaraki R. keeps the sixth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Sendai 89ers. Sea Horses M. will meet higher ranked Gunma CT (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
