Regular Season Round 19: Lioneers - Dreamers 99-123

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Lioneers (9-10) were crushed by fifth ranked Dreamers (6-11) 123-99 on Saturday. Dreamers made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Dreamers outrebounded Lioneers 47-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dreamers made 10 blocks. It was a great evening for American swingman SirDominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Kuan-Liang Lu (185-1991) helped adding 28 points. At the losing side the former international power forward Will Artino (211-1992, college: Creighton) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Po-Yu Tseng (186-1996) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Five Dreamers and four Lioneers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dreamers maintains fifth place with 6-11 record. Loser Lioneers keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Dreamers will meet higher ranked Fubon Braves (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lioneers will play against the league's second-placed Pilots in Taoyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
