An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kanagawa. Second ranked Kawasaki BT faced 4th placed Ryukyu GK. Host Kawasaki BT (19-13) defeated guests from Okinawa (23-9) 76-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) stepped up and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American power forward Michael Young (206-1994, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 6 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kawasaki BT maintains second place with 19-13 record having nine points less than leader Yokohama BC. Loser Ryukyu GK keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Kawasaki BT will meet Hokkaido L. (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ryukyu GK will play against Gunma CT (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
