Third-ranked Shinshu BW (16-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Chiba Jets (28-4) in Nagano. The visitors from Chiba managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for American forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) answered with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Yuta Okada (189-1998) added 16 points and 4 steals in the effort for Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Chiba Jets. They maintain first place with 28-4 record. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the third position with 16 games lost. They share it with Tochigi Brex and Akita NH. Chiba Jets will play against FE Nagoya (#5) on the road in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Nagoya DD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
