Regular Season Round 17: Niigata R. - Aranmare A. 50-81

There was no surprise in Tokyo where 13th ranked Niigata R. (2-13) was crushed by tenth ranked Aranmare A. (6-11) 81-50 on Saturday. Aranmare A. had a 33-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ayaka Ozawa (167-1995) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and guard Asuka Hiramatsu (162-1994) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Midori Kanazawa (170-1996) responded with 13 points and point guard Miyu Kawamura (170-1998) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aranmare A. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Aishin AW. Niigata R. lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Aranmare A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again against Aranmare A. (#10) and hope to secure a win.
