Regular Season Round 3: Al Gharafa - Al Ahli 76-69

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#5) and Al Ahli (#4). Al Gharafa (1-1) won against visiting Al Ahli (0-2) 76-69. Al Gharafa looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Tyler Harris (208-1993, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import point guard TJ Washington (183-1998, college: Utah Valley) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 12 steals. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alex Young (198-1989, college: IUPUI) who recorded 26 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and DR Congolese-Canadian guard Myck Kabongo (190-1992, college: Texas) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively.
