Regular Season Round 31: Niigata A. - Yokohama BC 75-88

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Niigata A. (4-26) lost at home to second ranked Yokohama BC (18-12) 88-75 on Wednesday. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Yuki Kawamura (169-2001) who led the winners and scored 36 points (!!!) and 5 assists. American Devin Oliver (204-1992, college: Dayton) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC's coach Taketo Aoki used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and American forward Keve Aluma (206-1998, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Niigata A. in the defeat. Yokohama BC keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kawasaki BT and FE Nagoya. Loser Niigata A. keeps the eighth place with 26 games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars. Yokohama BC will meet Hokkaido L. (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Niigata A. will play against Sea Horses M. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
