An exciting game was when Second ranked Cathay Life faced 3rd placed Taipower. Cathay Life (4-1) smashed Taipower (1-4) 121-52. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Taipower's 34 and made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cathay Life shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Taipower's players. Taipower was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international swingman Yu-Ting Lin (179-1994) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Yi-Xiu Zheng (178-1993) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Five Cathay Life players scored in double figures. Point guard Yixuan Li (161-1990) answered with 13 points and the former international forward Yi-Tao Su (175-1992) added 16 points in the effort for Taipower. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion used an opportunity after Taiyuan T. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Taipower at the other side dropped to the bottom place with four games lost. They share the position with Chunghua T.. Cathay Life will play against league's leader Taiyuan Textile in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taipower will play against Chunghwa Telecom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
