Regular Season Round 18: Kings - Lioneers 106-107

Date: January 14, 2023
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kings (12-4) against third ranked Lioneers on Saturday night. Lioneers were edged by third ranked Lioneers (9-8) 107-106. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Kings. Lioneers made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Kings helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Canadian forward Anthony Bennett (203-1993, college: UNLV) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Terrico White (196-1990, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 27 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-British center Byron Mullens (213-1989, college: Ohio St., agency: BeoBasket) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and the former international power forward Quincy Davis (203-1983, college: Tulane) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Lioneers and five Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach Ryan Marchand rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lioneers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-8 record having just two points less than leader Kings. Kings at the other side still keep top place with four games lost. Lioneers are looking forward to face league's second-placed Pilots in Taoyuan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kings will play at home against Dreamers and are hoping to win this game.
