Regular Season Round 30: Alvark Tokyo - Hokkaido L. 106-88

Very expected game when 8th ranked Hokkaido L. (7-22) was defeated on the road by second ranked Alvark Tokyo (23-6) 106-88 on Wednesday. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Hokkaido L. 37-18 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Alvark Tokyo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international guard Shuto Ando (189-1994) scored 31 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) with 23 points and 8 rebounds and American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-1993, college: Northeastern) scored 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvark Tokyo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 23-6 record having just six point less than leader Hiroshima D., which they share with Shimane SM. Hokkaido L. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 22 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will meet Gunma CT (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hokkaido L. will play against Tochigi Brex (#5) and hope to secure a win.
