Regular Season Round 29: Osaka E. - Hokkaido L. 110-108

Eighth-ranked Hokkaido L. (7-21) was very close to win a game against sixth ranked Osaka E. (14-14). Osaka E. managed to secure only two-point victory 110-108. However their fans expected easier game. Osaka E. made 29-of-38 charity shots (76.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard DJ Newbill (193-1992, college: Penn St.) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Sean OMara (208-1995, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Osaka E. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Akita NH and Shinshu BW. Hokkaido L. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 21 games lost. Osaka E. will play against league's leader Hiroshima D. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
