Regular Season Round 28: Koshigaya A. - Nagasaki 83-78

There was a small surprise in Tokyo where second ranked Koshigaya A. (24-6) defeated their close opponent Nagasaki (19-11) 83-78 on Sunday. Koshigaya A. made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Justin Harper (208-1989, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Brekkott Chapman (206-1996, college: Weber St.) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-1980, college: Otterbein) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Nagasaki's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Koshigaya A. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Saga B. Nagasaki lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the second place with 11 games lost. Koshigaya A. will meet Aomori W. (#4) on the road in the next round. Nagasaki will play against Kumamoto V. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
