Very significant was Qatar Club's 85-81 road victory against Al Arabi. Qatar Club players were unselfish on offense dishing 41 assists. Al Arabi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) nailed 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Senegalese center Samba Kane (213-1999, college: Milwaukee) accounted for 4 points, 22 rebounds and 22 assists. American Michael Murray (196-1991, college: Coppin St.) came up with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 21 rebounds and 21 assists and Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-1988) added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Al Arabi in the defeat. Five Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Qatar Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Ahli.
