Regular Season Round 24: Shenzhen L. - Guangsha L. 89-101

There was a surprise result in Shenzhen where eleventh ranked Guangsha Lions (12-11) defeated higher ranked Aviators (13-8) 101-89 on Tuesday. Guangsha Lions made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Guangsha Lions made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-1997) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (206-1992, college: Gonzaga) who added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Jared Sullinger (206-1992, college: Ohio St.) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Askia Booker (186-1993, college: Colorado) scored 17 points. Four Aviators players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Guangsha Lions moved-up to ninth place. Loser Aviators keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Shanghai S.. Guangsha Lions will meet bottom-ranked Rockets (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aviators will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#11) and hope to secure a win.
